David Johnson

Director of Product Development

Dave Johnson is the Director of Product Development of SIG SAUER®.

Mr. Johnson joined the company in 2005 bringing 16 years of experience in the firearms industry with him.  Most recently, he held the position of Senior Director of Engineering Operations at Sturm, Ruger & Co.  While at Ruger, Mr. Johnson was responsible for all aspects of product design and development from product planning through concept, detail design and release for production.

Mr. Johnson served in the United States Army as a Commissioned Officer where he was stationed in West Germany as Battalian Staff Officer, Battery Executive Officer.

His education includes studies in mechanical engineering from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute and Stevens Institute of Technology.
