Team SIG’s Max Michel Captures His Third Steel Challenge Title

Exeter, NH (August 2009) – Team SIG Champion Shooter, Max Michel, edged out the country’s top shooters to win the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships held in Piru, California, August 12 – 16, 2009. Max had previously won the coveted title in 2005 and 2007 as a member of the US Army Marksmanship unit. His third championship was captured as Captain of the SIG SAUER Shooting Team and cosponsor Hornady. Max’s final score in the Open Division was 82.09 after winning two stages.

The Steel Challenge was founded in 1981 by competitive shooters to expand the handgun shooting sports. The Steel Challenge Shooting Association (SCSA) is the governing body of the sport of Speed Shooting and organizer of the Steel Challenge World Speed Shooting Championships.
