SIG SAUER® Add P220 To DAK™ Line-Up

EXETER, NH – The SIG SAUER® DAK™ trigger system has taken the law enforcement market by storm. Its smooth, light double-action pull and second strike capability made it an immediate favorite among law enforcement instructors and officers. The DAK trigger also played a roll in SIG SAUER® winning the prestigious Department of Homeland Security pistol contract.

Now SIG SAUER is expanding its list of DAK pistols (P226, P229 and P239) to include the venerable P220. The P220 was the first SIG SAUER pistol introduced in the U.S. and has earned a reputation that few other 45s can claim.

Recognized as the most accurate out-of-the-box 45 available, the P220 quickly became a mainstay in law enforcement before the trend to the smaller 9mm. As more and more agencies, as well as the military, look to return to the knock-down power of the .45ACP the demand for a reliable and durable double-action only will lead many to the SIG SAUER P220.

This 8+1capacity pistol features a smooth 7.5-pound double-action only trigger pull with second strike capability. The combination of Sauer’s cold hammer forged barrel and near perfect lock-up, offers shooters outstanding accuracy.

The P220 DAK slide is machined from stainless steel bar stock and finished in a durable Nitron® finish. The lightweight alloy frame is hard-coat anodized and outfitted with a Picatinny rail for tactical versatility. The P220 DAK comes with either contrast or SIGLITE® night sights and is also available in Two-Tone with a Natural Stainless slide. Optional 10 round magazines are available separately from SIG SAUER.

The P220 DAK, along with the P220 SAO, marks the beginning of a whole new chapter in ongoing history of one of the finest .45ACP auto pistols ever made. Today the P220 still sits atop the mountain of .45s, and with three trigger options, it will be a long time before that changes – if ever.
