SIG SAUER® Introduces P226®, P238® Extreme Series

Aggressive look, enhanced performance worthy of the SIG SAUER name

EXETER, NH (January 2011) — SIG SAUER, Inc., the leading manufacturer of commercial, law enforcement and military firearms, has taken P226® and P238® pistols to a new level in looks and performance with the Extreme Series.

The SIG SAUER® Extreme Series pistols feature a Nitron®-coated machined stainless steel slide and hard coat anodize aluminum frame, and come standard with SIGLITE® night sights, a built-in accessory rail, front cocking serrations and a reversible magazine catch. Aggressive styling is provided by Hogue® Extreme Series grips. These black and gray G10 grips feature Hogue Piranha texture and the SIG SAUER logo.

P226 Extreme Series pistols come with SRT™ Trigger Systems, which offer a 60% shorter reset than conventional DA/SA triggers. A four-point safety system offers a decocking lever, automatic firing pin safety block, hammer intercept safety notch, and a trigger bar disconnect. The P226 Extreme Series features 15+1 capacity in 9mm, or 12+1 in .357SIG or .40S&W.

P238 Extreme Series pistols come in a single-action with a traditional thumb safety. The automatic firing pin block, hammer safety intercept notch, and trigger bar disconnect safety provide additional safety. The P238 Extreme Series comes chambered in .380 Auto and includes one flush fit 6-round magazine and one X-Grip® extended 7-round magazine.
