SIG SAUER® Introduces New Models to the P238® Line

Ambidextrous safety available on some models or as Custom Shop installation
EXETER, NH (January 2012) — Since its introduction at the 2009 SHOT Show, the P238 has become a
favorite of armed professionals and concealed carry permit holders for its size and shootability. Now in
2012, SIG SAUER introduces the next generation of P238 variations, including a new ambidextrous
safety option for left-handed shooters.
“Demand has not let up for this pistol since its introduction,” said Bill Silver, SIG SAUER Vice President of
Commercial Sales. “For a pocket-sized pistol, the P238 is one of the most accurate and easy-to-shoot
options on the market. SIG SAUER fans have made this gun a best seller two years in a row.”
Some of the new versions on tap for the coming year include:
P238 Scorpion: The latest offering in the Scorpion family, this P238 shares the same Flat Dark Earth
custom finish as the 1911, P220®, P226® and P229® versions. Hogue® Piranha G-10 grips provide an
exceptional grip as well as a distinctive appearance. A new ambidextrous safety is standard.
P238 Black Diamond: Taking the popular Diamond Plate engraved finish to the next level, the P238
Black Diamond is Nitron®-finished, then engraved, creating a reverse pattern that is as durable as it is
striking. SIG SAUER black aluminum grips round out the look. Both ambidextrous and right-side-only
safeties are available.
P238 Desert: A custom two-tone Flat Dark Earth finish is paired with a Hogue wraparound grip, featuring
finger grooves that provide a sure grip with a defining look. This, too, will be available with either
ambidextrous or right-side safety levers.
All P238 pistols feature SIGLITE® Night Sights.
In addition to its availability on certain models, an ambidextrous safety lever will be available through the
SIG SAUER Custom Shop for aftermarket installation. New grips will also be part of the package. Contact
