At SIG SAUER, our responsibility to the military and our veterans is what drives us and gives us purpose. Nearly 40% of our workforce, across all divisions and locations, are veterans and have served our country with honor. Here at SIG, we proudly manufacture the M17 pistol for all branches of the U.S. Military for service use, and our riflescopes have been awarded contracts with the U.S. Army and USSOCOM. For these reasons, and many more, we give precedence to organizations that serve veterans causes and our military in our charitable giving.

The Honored American Veterans Afield organization (HAVA) is a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2007 by a group of executives from the hunting and shooting industry, including SIG SAUER Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales Tom Taylor, whose mission is to help disabled veterans and injured active-duty military returning from war heal, and reintegrate back into everyday life through participation in outdoor activities. HAVA sponsors guided hunts, shooting events, and outdoor activities across the country hosting hundreds of veterans annually.

SIG SAUER is honored to support the activity of the HAVA organization through event participation, product donation, and charitable giving. In 2018 SIG SAUER directly participated and/or made the following contributions to HAVA:

This donation came as a result of a program within commercial sales to donate a portion of the sales of SIG SAUER Electro-Optics products to benefit veterans organization.

In August a group of SIG SAUER employees organized the 2018 SIG SAUER annual charity golf tournament to raise over $40,000 for the HAVA organization. The event had a record-breaking year and expanded to 152 players that contributed to a 150% increase in fundraising over the previous year.

Throughout the year SIG SAUER is an active participant in HAVA shooting events. In June HAVA Range Day brought veterans and families together in North Carolina to shoot some of the latest firearms models from various manufacturers, improve their marksmanship skills, and bond with family and friends. At HAVA Range Day SIG SAUER donated several P320 M17 pistols and various models of the P320 in addition to being a title sponsor of the event.

Most recently, Team SIG’s newest member Daniel Horner participated in the 11th Annual HAVA National Family Day teaching shooting techniques and participating in a world-class shooting exhibition at San Antonio Police Academy in San Antonio, Texas. The event was attended by over 400 individuals whom that included six stages of fire at the academy’s pistol range, family activities, and product raffles featuring SIG SAUER products.

“The HAVA organization, and its relentless dedication to its mission, is making a real difference in the lives of Americas Heroes. For all of us at SIG SAUER it is truly an honor to support this meaningful program, and have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the men and women that protect our freedoms,” said Tom Taylor, Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales, SIG SAUER, Inc.

The HAVA organization was recently recognized nationally by the US Navy as the 2018 recipient of the Spirit of Hope Award. The Spirit of Hope Award was established in 1997 based on the contributions made by entertainer Bob Hope to the military. The award is presented to individuals and organizations who exemplify the same qualities of generosity and patriotism Bob Hope was renowned for. Tom Taylor, Chairman/Director for HAVA and SIG SAUER Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Commercial Sales traveled to Washington D.C. for a ceremony at the Pentagon’s Hall of Heroes on September 28, 2018.
