Compensator

Compensator

A compensator is a device attached to the end of a firearm’s barrel that vents the expended gas from a fired round so that the firearm is more stable. Typically installed on handguns, compensators help reduce the recoil impulse of a firearm on the shooter’s grip, reducing the so-called “muzzle flip.” This helps shooters keep the firearm lined up on target after the shot, making it easier to acquire the next target and fire more accurately.
