Similar to Cerakote, diamond-like-carbon, or “DLC,” is an extremely strong coating applied to firearms parts to increase durability. The distinction from Cerakote is that DLC retains a level of lubricity and is generally used on firearm parts that are subjected to friction, like bolts, triggers, and barrels. It is also applied in a micron-thick coating, so it is well-suited to internal parts where space and fitting are critical.
