Slide Lock

The term slide lock describes the condition of a semi-automatic handgun when the last round in the magazine has been fired and the slide has been locked rearward by the slide catch lever. You’ll hear the term frequently in SIG SAUER Academy classes, where an instructor might say: “In this drill, continue firing your handgun until slide lock.”
