Max Michel, One of the most dominant shooters in the world

Max Michel: How it All Began

Max Michel, Jr. is one of the most dominant shooters in the world today and his list of accomplishments reads like a fairy tale of competitive shooting. He is a Guinness World Record holder and International Practical Shooting Confederation World Champion. He also holds seven World Speed Shooting Championships, ten USPSA National Championships, five US Steel National Championships, and more than 200 other major championship victories. As the Captain of Team SIG, Max is recognized worldwide as a top tier athlete and instructor, along with being mentor and coach for the team. In addition, Max recently set two world records at the 2019 SIG SAUER World Speed Shooting Championship (a.k.a. Steel Challenge.) held May 15-19 in Talladega, Alabama. He completed the Roundabout stage in 7.17 seconds, and the Smoke and Hope Stage in 7.29 seconds.

All of this might not have been possible, however, if it weren’t for his father, Max Michel, Sr. who introduced his son to shooting at the age of 5 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Watch the video below to learn about Max's early years growing up in New Orleans and how his relationship with his father helped shape him into the shooter that he is today.
