SIG SAUER Inc. unintended discharge case ruled unanimously that the P320 has no defect.

In the U.S. District Court in the District of Maine, a nine-person jury considered product liability, negligence, and breach of implied warranty, and on all three topics returned a unanimous verdict on August 7, 2026, in favor of SIG SAUER. 

The Maine verdict follows other recent successful P320 outcomes, including a federal court of appeals unanimously dismissing a class action lawsuit in July 2026 and two separate plaintiffs voluntarily withdrawing their federal cases in May 2026. The voluntary withdrawals resulted in dismissals with prejudice by the Massachusetts and Colorado federal courts.
