Often mistakenly used to describe standard magazines, a high-capacity magazine is generally one that holds more rounds than the one that comes standard with the firearm. For example, the standard SIG SAUER P320 comes with two 17-round magazines that fit flush with the bottom of the grip. SIG SAUER also offers high-capacity, or “extended,” magazines for the P320 that hold 21 rounds and extend slightly below the grip.
