Discharge

The term discharge describes the moment a firearm expels a round through the barrel. Discharge is synonymous with “fired” or “shot,” but often carries a more negative connotation as it is typically used in conjunction with the words ‘Negligent’ or ‘Accidental’ to describe a situation where a gun is fired in error or through a malfunction.
