The term full-size typically refers to handguns with barrel lengths of 4.5 inches to 5.5 inches. These firearms are generally not designed to be carried concealed. Handguns with longer barrel lengths are in most cases called “competition” handguns because their increased barrel length translates into better accuracy. Other handgun sizes include compact, subcompact, and micro. These are typically built primarily for concealment.
