What inspires me most is how Rose is breaking down barriers in a space that has traditionally felt intimidating to women. They have created a supportive environment where women can take control of their personal safety, connect with others, and grow stronger. This mission deeply resonates with me and the goals of my non profit - War Party Ranch, we are both committed to equipping women with knowledge, confidence, and community.

Everyone starts as a beginner. That fear of not being good or feeling embarrassed is unnecessary. Everyone starts as a beginner and the first step to getting better is to take the leap to start learning.

I was introduced to firearms at young age growing up on a farm and in a hunting family, but I never truly understood the importance of personal safety and preparedness until I had my life threatened by and abusive relationship and was in fear of my life had to flee to another state. That experience shook me and made me realize that simply being familiar with firearms wasn’t enough. I needed to be confident, capable and trained. So I started taking classes and then got into competition shooting and learned from some of the best shooters in the industry. Competitions pushed me to refine my skills, stay disciplined, and grow as a shooter and a person.

War Party Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is dedicated to empowering women and girls- particularly survivors of abuse and those of Native communities- by equipping them with practical skills that foster independence, resilience, and self-reliance. Through hands on training in firearms, self-defense, agriculture, horsemanship, hunting, and wellness., War Party Ranch creates a supportive environment where women can rebuild confidence a reclaim their strength to break the cycle of abuse.

I spent a lot of my life just surviving. When I broke away from all the abusive and controlling relationships I made it a point to start living on my terms and do the things I always wished to. So now I love free diving with sharks, doing solo traveling, hiking, cliff jumping, horseback riding. I just love experiencing all that life has to offer.

I wish I would’ve started earlier but I wish I would’ve had someone teach me the importance of training intentionally earlier. If I had started taking my firearms journey serious earlier I would be way more capable now. Those fundamentals are so important and the sooner and earlier you learn the better.
