Daniel Horner Tests the BDX Optics Systems

BDX Testing with Daniel Horner

BDX is a rangefinder, riflescope and mobile app system developed by SIG SAUER Electro-Optics that uses your ballistics, environmental conditions, and Bluetooth to illuminate the exact holdover dot, making it easier than ever to get the most accurate and ethical shot.

Recently, Team SIG professional shooter Daniel Horner had a chance to run the BDX system through its paces at the Paul Nelson Farm in Gettysburg, South Dakota. He used the KILO2400 Rangefinder and the SIERRA3BDX 6.5-20X52MM Riflescope in conjunction with the BDX app. For these tests, Daniel shot at steel targets ranging from 250 to 600 yards while making slight adjustments for windage. Additionally, he attached a GoPro camera to the riflescope in order to show the movement and positioning of the BDX dot in the reticle.

“This was the first time I had used the BDX system," said Horner. "It was very simple to set up. Downloading the app and synching the optics took no time at all. I zeroed the rifle and the trajectory was spot on out to the 800 yard target. But what I was really impressed with was the speed and accuracy at which the system gave me a shooting solution.”
